Using the Tongue
I gulped scalding hot water and my tongue is scalded. I eat food and I realize that the tongue is involved so much in the food eating process. You can’t just thrust food into your mouth, chew it with your teeth and swallow, No, there’s more to it - the role of the tongue. The tongue does a lot. Food reaches all parts of the mouth; the tongue puts it under the appropriate teeth for grinding. It has also helps in the process of swallowing saliva while eating. The tongue also brushes against the roof of the mouth during chewing operations. Apart from all this, one does wet one’s lips with ones tongue! My tongue had to do all this and it has blisters.Since it is lunch time the discussion is restricted to food.
